Packing and Packaging are closely related and confusing. If you are an industrial pharmacist you need to know the difference between packing and packaging. However, the basic difference between packing and packaging are:

Packing is the process or the act to pack something for appropriate storage and/or transportation. Packing includes wrapping, sealing, bracing, marking, cushioning, strapping, weatherproofing, and other ways to proper storage and protection. On the other hand, the packaging is the means, method, and device for ensuring the safe delivery of the product to the ultimate consumer in the desired condition at a minimal overall effort.

Packing is done for the basic protection of the products from damage, pilferage, leakage, etc. On the other hand, the packaging is not only done to protect a product but also attract consumers and brand identification.
